At the 8th International Conference on Gender Research (ICGR), hosted by ISCAP in Porto, Portugal, I presented my research examining the legal consciousness of migrant women experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV) within the framework of current UK immigration law. The study investigates how legal sub-Saharan African migrant women in the UK diaspora informally navigate and mobilise legal systems, processes, and compliance-related decisions while subjected to IPV.
